[R18+] "For the wicked, someone's hell is their unyielding heaven."

In a community stricken by extreme poverty, Celia, a young teenager, was put out of her trailer home by her mother. Now fully exposed to all evil and forced to scoop coal for a measly wage, she and Jo, her friend who abandoned his family years ago and became a forklift operator, will have to navigate the rule of Morgston Industrial and Steel: a mega-corporation in a nation that despises their people. Being effectively non-citizens of this society, they will have to survive an exploitative assault on their bodies, minds, and emotions or suffer and possibly die.

Through it all, there is a fabled desire of a world where the many years of abuse towards their kind will be over. However, smaller goals and a burgeoning teenage love keeps them going to hopefully create what they termed as the 'good life'.

For these friends, can they endure this systemic oppression to achieve their goals to reach the 'good life', or are they doomed to eternal servitude from their corporate overlords?

*This story is rated 18+ for descriptions of sexual assault, domestic violence, murder, child abuse, and other graphic content. If you as a reader feel uncomfortable with any or all topics and themes presented above, it is recommended to skip this book.*

Highest ranked- #10 in action 2/16/2017 A promotion. That's all I wanted. I didn't want to run for my life. I didn't want to be kidnapped. I didn't want to face death. I didn't want to find out my whole life was a lie. I just wanted a bloody promotion. Guess fate had other plans? **** The cold air fanned over my face as I opened the door. The exit door lead to the back of the building so it was pitch black. I leaned against the wall trying to control myself. Blood was running down my arm and head. My hair was stuck to my face from all the sweat and blood. Everything was spinning around me and the ground seemed like it was shaking. Groaning I sat down and put my head on my knees. He knows who I am. He knows how I look like. He knows where I work so possible knows where I live. I am not safe anymore... no where. While I was in my own world I heard faint sounds behind me but I didn't bother to look or run away. The footsteps got closer and I was pretty sure it was Walker's men. I should run. I should try to fight. But what's the point in trying to run away? He would eventually find me and if he has his way he would most likely kill me. If this is my fate then why am I trying to fight it? I felt someone harshly grab my waist and pull me up and I complied. They dragged me down the alley and into the busy street. I heard the opening of a car and the next thing I knew I was being thrown into a car. My head hit the hard leather seat and the door shut behind me. Maybe this is how my life will end. Maybe I should just let it happen. Maybe I was destined to die alone as a no one. With that I let the darkness consume me.

They say betrayal never comes from your enemies. I used to think that was just something people said to feel better about their broken hearts. Until mine shattered too. The night it happened, everything changed. I lost my best friend. I lost my boyfriend. But worst of all... I lost myself. It's funny how a single moment can split your life into before and after. Before, I was the girl who believed in love, in loyalty, in forever. After, I was the girl standing in the ruins of what used to be her world, gasping for air, screaming into the silence, wondering why. Why me? Why now? Why them? So, I ran. Packed what was left of me and left the pieces behind-what else could I do? I moved cities. Moved in with my cousin. I told myself I needed a break, a fresh start. I told myself I wasn't looking for anyone. I was here to rebuild, quietly, carefully. Just me and the pain that still lived under my skin. But then... I saw him. At the club. Dark suit. Brooding eyes. Hands in his pockets like the world bowed at his feet. He didn't just walk in; he owned the room. The kind of man who didn't need to speak to be heard. I didn't know his name. I didn't know his story. But I felt his eyes on me like a touch that burned. He was power. He was danger. He was everything I told myself to avoid. But as fate would have it, the man who never chased anyone... noticed the broken girl who stopped believing in love. And maybe-just maybe-he'd be the one to help me believe again. This is the story of how I broke... And how he found every shattered piece.

Ethan Lane was your typical player. He was smooth, handsome, manly, successful and a total chick magnet. Women loved him and men wanted to be him. He had a steady stream of girlfriends in his past but always craved for more on the side. He could never be faithful or satisfied. He only knew how to live dangerously pleasing only himself as no one else mattered. The idea of finding 'the one' was nothing but bull he didn't believe in love or romance. He came from a broken family where promises and words meant nothing only actions. Having moved out of home at 15 Ethan knew he could only ever rely on himself and no one else. Lauren Contini was studying Business at Uni full time with a part time job on the side. She was naturally gorgeous, smart, funny, intelligent but naive & innocent. She'd only had serious monogamous relationships in the past with a string of guys always willing to be her 'friend'. She was an 'it' girl at Uni and pretty much had it all planned out where her life was going. With a huge family to support her every move she was very much loved. Despite her wealthy family she was down to earth and humble, she planned to make her own wealth and wanted to be financially independent. So what happens when these two worlds collide. Polar opposites in so many ways but the attraction is undeniable. Can they get their happy ending? ~~~~~~~~~~ Copyright © 2015 by Debbie Brock All rights reserved. Peculiar Event - English Version by MichelMor
33 parts Ongoing Mature
Hello, Book Lovers For those who have read "Peculiar Contract" and were traumatized, it's a good idea to prepare yourselves and your hearts, because a "Peculiar Event" is about to begin and this time, there might not be any options for an ending. If you haven't read "Peculiar Contract," I recommend you read it before this work, as characters from that story appear here and you might not understand some of their actions and motivations. But it's your call. It will be one less trauma in your life and one less therapy session I'll have to pay for. Synopsis The invitation was simple: a luxurious island, an opulent mansion, games with their own rules-and a prize that could change any life. But nothing is that simple when the body speaks louder than reason, and when desire becomes a sharper weapon than any strategy. There, every touch carries a hidden agenda, every alliance is a game of seduction, and feelings are manipulated with the same coldness with which pieces are moved on a chessboard. Sponsors and protégés watch each other like predators before their prey-but it's not always clear who is in control. Masks fall, truths are twisted, and the lines between pleasure, power, and madness become dangerously thin. In the middle of it all, a question arises that none of them dare to ask aloud: how far would you go to win-and what would be left of you afterward? Important Notice: This book belongs to the Dark Romance genre. This genre explores intense and dark themes, often controversial, which may include emotional triggers such as violence, toxic relationships, abuse, and other sensitive topics. If you are susceptible to these themes, caution is advised before continuing. This work is a piece of fiction; the events depicted are not intended to glorify or validate harmful behavior in real life. Read responsibly and with discretion. 🔞 Explicit content: adult scenes, assault, sexual abuse, and strong language.
