Crowned Princess Athena Winchell is next in line to rule the Kingdom of Asteria, a Kingdom untouched by Erawan and Maeve, however, full of fae and other magical beings, some not as good as others. Following the events in Kingdom of Ash, Fenrys, a blood-oath sworn member of Queen Aelin Galanthynius' court is sent to Asteria for a year to learn from the ancient scholars that preside there. Fenrys and Athena spend the year forming a friendship, and discovering both the good and the evil that lay in the kingdom
