In a Storm of Frost and Flames

Seraphina Cass or Serra, just wants to get home for christmas. Finally with christmas break starting, she is able to drive home to see her mother and sick father. But the night she decides to drive, a snow storm hits. Trying to drive safely in her old Toyota, she trudges home, but things don't go as planned when a deer or what she thought was a deer jumps into her path.

With her car in a snowbank, Serra makes her say through the woods towards what she thinks in a house only to wake up the next day in another world. With the help of Hector, the deer man she almost hit with her car, she is brought to a kingdom of shadows. She is introduced to the Prince who rules the kingdom as a witch. Prince Koren is determined that Serra will break the curse on his land planted there by another witch Cordelia.

Just wanting to get home, Serra finds she doesn't know how. Not only that, but she starts to form powers that make her believe maybe she is a witch as everyone says.

Troubled with the need to get home as well as her new found magical powers, Serra has another problem. She is beginning to fall for the rude and arrogant shadow prince who she can't even see clearly.
