As a citizen of the Last City, Y/N is supposedly under the protection of the Guardians in their Tower. He doesn't trust them, though, and decides to take matters into his own hands. With weapons from a black market arms dealer taken from the Tower Vanguard, he leaves the last city every now and then to fight the enemies of humanity on his own. Seeking all kinds of knowledge about how to fight them, he hopes to learn the language of the Hive. Luckily, on one of his visits to the outside world, he finds a lone Hive Wizard, the only survivor of an attack from patrolling Guardians. Y/N takes her hostage and tries to get her to teach him the Hive Language, or at least as much of the basics as possible before he's forced to kill her.
This book is about Destiny 2, but you don't need any prior knowledge to read it. Everything necessary to the plot is explained as the story progresses.
