Adoptions always confused me. I don't know why; I've been in the system for Thirteen years now and don't understand how someone can look at a kid and say - "I'll take them". Anyway, that happened to me two weeks ago. some random family who calls themselves 'the Swansons' decided they wanted a 16-year-old Australian to move in with them in Los Angeles. at first, I didn't want to, but soon I realised it's so much better than being here in this crowded foster home. (Title - High in California - is based on the song by Louis Tomlinson with the same name)

*Completed* My name is Allison, I'm 16 and I'm an Orphan. All my life I have lived it how I like, didn't give a shit about boys, makeups and all those other fucked up stuff. But all that is about to change. I just got adopted-I know am a bit old to be adopted but the hell I was. And now I have to try to behave like a girl. A normal girl because the family that adopted me were rich and expected me to be all decent with it too. It was originally hard to blend in, the attention of boys, the change in environment, change in school, change in friends all these occurrences affected me and influenced me on how to be a girl.
