Dangerous place, these misty waters. It is hardly inhabited by merfolk, this part of the ocean, but it is for good reason. Sailors steer away from these parts, not wishing to risk their crew running into one of them

Sirens

No one knows how many there are, but stories of the survivors speak of a melody that surrounded them from all directions, yet not a single creature of the sea could be spotted. One after one, the sailors fell, jumped into the waves, steered against a cliff. Never did one come back with the description of one of these wretched beasts

They speculated there must be dozens. Perhaps hundreds.

In truth there was only one

Across the Timeless Sea

10 parts Complete

Mermaids were the temptresses of death; for some, they were a colony of sea devils luring unguarded sailors to dangerous water, sending them to their death. Mermaids were beautiful sea fairies, others said; magical creatures whose nature was kind and gentle, thus violence towards them would severely be frowned upon. But who could testify of the truth, if even the very existence of these beings was nothing more than a fairy tale? To the east of the Immortal Sea was a prosperous port city, known by the name "Xian Jing", the "Heavenly Capital". A place where trades and cultures flourished the most with visitors from all corners of the world, little did people know that a part of this marvelous town was house to the vilest plague of the sea, plunderers and murderers: the pirates. It was here that the story began; of a little tramp abandoned by his family, and a mysterious young man of unknown origin who graced him with kindness. By the twist of fate the two met; would it be a curse or a blessing lying in wait at the end of their path?
