Chloe Williams, a young teacher, runs away from her life in America to escape her terrible past and the abusive boyfriend. Intent on starting a new life, Chloe is hired as a governess by Michael Halpert, a wealthy and widower father from London, to look after his three children: Lya, Harry and Diana. On Mr. Halpert's orders, Chloe moves into the family mansion, located in the Essex countryside, where she quickly meets the man's children and the staff of the house: the gardener Jack, the cook Ryan and the housekeeper Flora.
