Originally from Boston, Avelyn Carter has relocated to the infamous Gotham City to attend university and earn her master's degree in psychology.

Avelyn knows the unfamiliar city is dangerous, but she is determined to fulfill her dream of becoming a renowned psychologist, and there is no better school than Gotham University to achieve this.

But, things begin to take a turn when the aspiring psychologist meets her Study of Phobias professor, Dr. Jonathan Crane.

As a slow-burning passion blossoms between the two, Avelyn's academically-dedicated life begins to veer off course as she is engulfed by Crane's madness and charm.
