In an Empire where lying to dragons is deadly, Marianna is prepared to risk it all when she takes her sister's place as a consort candidate for the mad Dragon Emperor.

Braving the monstrous  capital Marianna must not only hide her identity she must thwart the perceptive Captain Of The Guard and succeed in the Emperor's twisted consort games. But her past comes back to haunt her when she uncovers a plot to overthrow the Emperor and it's all too tempting to join the masked vigilantly Shadow and his band of rebels, in order to get revenge for the love the Emperor ripped from her all those years ago. 

Balancing her days with deadly monsters and games, and her nights with sabotage, tangles Marianna further into a web of deceit. And with her growing attraction to Shadow the lies keep piling- especially the ones she tells herself. 

Rated M- Mostly violence and sweet, sexy tension.
