18-year-old Harper Vanderbilt is looking forward to a summer in paradise on the luxurious island of Seychelles before heading off the college in the fall. But when her mom decides she's had enough after a few careless decisions, Harper is shipped off to Minnesota to live with her father -- a free spirit, inexperienced parent who severed his ties with Harper and her mother years ago after choosing a new job and new town over his family. Harper is expecting the worst summer of her life with the man and the sport she absolutely hates - until she starts hanging around with a few of the players on her dad's team, one in particular whom she really takes a liking to. Will she be able to keep up with the big boys? Or will they, along with her father, wear her down until she's had enough?
