Three months ago, Bast lost everyone she loved and barely survived a disaster that still no one could find the cause for. Her home town devastated and her home lost, she moved in with the only friend she had left. Her whole life gone after she'd just returned home from finishing her schooling. 

Then her friend decides she needed some cheering up at her favorite haunt. Bast didn't want to, but no one ever disappointed Michelle. It was there that Bast meets a mysterious stranger who seemed to understand her and didn't seem at all like any of the others that tried to get her attention. Drake wasn't like anyone else, he was something more and was beyond drawn to her, the woman with the lonely and saddened demeanor. 

In the course of one night, her world turns upside down and is never the same again. Secrets about her own past she never knew existed are revealed because of this stranger. Dangers are revealed that were linked to that past. Thankfully Bast has Drake there by her side to help her through it all.

"But your extra classes-" "Forget it, I was late anyway, princess." He took my hand to help me onto the bike. He sat down as well an I was already grabbing him tight. I can't let go of someone like him. ___________________________________________ "What?" I breathed out. I felt heated breaths on my face which startled me. Instantly, my eyes fell open. Quentin was gazing down at me... but not at me? How do I write this? It was like he was dazed a bit, staring down at something else attached to my face. And that 'something else' was very close to HIS 'something else'. I don't remember who pulled away faster, me or him.
