Almost Lover

Twenty-two year-old Bae Sunmi is convinced that South Korea is where Peachland is, a place she has been looking for since she was little, a place where the past can possibly connect to her present and where the missing pieces of her life-long puzzle can be found. When her high school sweetheart unexpectedly broke their seven-year relationship, Sunmi found an excuse to leave Japan and go to South Korea. There she meets the Lees, heirs to one of South Korea’s biggest business conglomerate (chaebol). They’re handsome, vain, and spoiled-rotten, and Sunmi’s first reaction was to hate them. But as fate would have it, Sunmi ended up befriending them, her life tightly intertwined with theirs. She finds out that they are kindhearted, fun-loving, childish, and incredibly gullible. She discovers that, like her, the Lee boys were wannabe-ordinary people living a not-so-ordinary life. Their friendship takes this story into a roller coaster of laughter and tears and makes Sunmi wonder if Peachland is a real place on a physical map or an intangible abode that exists in the hearts of those who love her.
