Anne asked.
"Gilbert Blythe."
Y/N said flatly as she rolled her eyes.
"Don't go near him. He's abhorrent. With his stupid swagger and loathsome smirk. Everything about him inspires nothing but utter disdain in me."
"You certainly seem to have strong feelings towards this boy."
Said Anne, surprised.
Diana giggled as she appeared beside the two.
"You can say that again."
Y/N who was still glaring in Gilbert's direction, didn't hear any of this exchange.
Anne looked between her and Diana before whispering conspiratorially to the latter.
"Whatever do you mean?"
"She might not realise it, but- I believe her to be confusing her emotions. For where she sees hate- all others see..."
Anne looked back at Y/N and Gilbert, to see them still maintaining eye contact, tension thick in the air.
Anne's face suddenly brightened to a smile.
"Love."
