26 year old Indah has recently moved from Sumba - a poverty stricken slum in Southern Indonesia - to Perth, Western Australia. Arriving with her  son, and nothing but the clothes on her back and a hundred dollars to her name, she ends on the doorstep of her Uncle Sam, who begrudgingly agrees to take her in until she gets on her feet. Determined to build a life for herself and her four year old son, she sets out trying to make her way in the world.  Ultimately, out of desperation, and in order to make ends meet - she falls into prostitution, and thus - ends up in a world of fast money, temptation and potential danger.  Can she use the industry to ignite her dreams and get on her own feet - before it destroys her?  Compelling and riveting, Becoming Rachel is a story about hope, survival and the fierce love of a mother as she struggles to provide a better life for her son, and ultimately - for herself.
