He was born before the apocalypse that wiped out more than half of the human population. So, all he wanted was a better and safer world to live in. He used to be a military cadet, his childhood dream. But not anymore, he left the academy because he can't take it anymore. The absurd demand of the government to procreate at the age of maturiry had gotten worst this last few years and was successful in pushing him away from the society.
Wolfgang has no issues with having sex with a consensual partner, he is a virile young man after all. But procreation? To him it was something sacred, he wanted it with his life mate. Maybe, he is just conservative that way or maybe because he was of wolf descent. Sometime in the past, his kind lost the ability to shape shift. But luckily, they were left with the strength, the speed and the ability to heal, just like their ancestors.
He knew all this, because of his alpha blood. The knowledge was instinctively pass down through their famial bond. An ordinary wolf didn't possess this kind of ability. They will need to be thought by their parents. But if something unfortunate events happened, they will live their lives like ordinary people and their wolves would be dormant.
Now, he lives like those dormant wolves, living a normal life and trying to fit in. He's now a forest ranger, not the soldier he always wanted to be. But he still have the same dreams of having a better and a safer life for everyone...
