As Spain colonizes and creates New Spain, Ticualtzincoatl (The Beautiful Serpent of my stories The Serpent's Nest and The Lovely Parasite. Second I had to remove bc it got accepted somewhere.) is called to save what remains of the Aztec Empire, and reinvigorate the faith in Aztec gods. However, a Spaniard sees an opportunity in her unusual appearance. (Ticualtzin is an Aztec girl name meaning "you are beautiful.")
Ticualtzincoatl represents the old Aztec culture. The only group this is meant to criticize are the white conquistadors, and those who act like them.
