Elodie Edwards-Martinez has always loved music. She knows how to play multiple instruments, can sing, and listens to music 24/7. Her two best friends, Piper and Cassie, are just as obsessed with music as her. It's been their dream since they were little to start a band together.

The summer before their senior year the three decide that they're going to start a band and kick start their dream before they graduate high school. They just needed two more band members. And those two members were Elodie's older twin, Ethan and the cute British boy who just moved in next door to Elodie.

The five of them are in for a surprise when they start school and learn that their school will be doing a Battle of the Bands. The first place prize? An actual record deal. The pressure is on and feelings start getting in the way. Will their band make it to the competition? Or will they fall apart before they even have the chance to compete?

In the heart of East Heights, where the streets are loud and the competition is fierce, Rashad, Lonnie, Brooklyn, Kennedy, and their crew are just trying to make it through senior year. But in a world where sports, relationships, and rivalries collide, staying focused is easier said than done. Rashad, the star point guard, has everything-talent, charisma, and college scouts watching his every move. But when Kennedy, the one girl who doesn't fall for his charm, keeps curving him, he realizes that winning her over might be his toughest game yet. Lonnie, Rashad's twin, dominates the football field, but his heart is caught between his best friend, Daja, and his dreams of playing college ball. He swears he won't get distracted-but the line between friendship and something more is starting to blur. Brooklyn is the new girl, but her reputation got here before she did. She's known for her fights with Brianna, a girl who loves to stir up drama. But Brooklyn isn't one to back down, even when Kareem-cocky, confident, and undeniably fine-starts calling her out at every turn. Between Friday night lights, locker room tensions, late-night texts, and secrets that could ruin everything, they'll have to decide: rise above the noise or get lost in it? A gripping high school drama filled with friendship, love, betrayal, and ambition, Above the Noise is about standing out, holding your ground, and learning that sometimes, the biggest battles aren't on the field or the court-but in your own heart.

Violetta (Violet) Jackson has big dreams. None of which happen to include sitting in detention for a week straight for a lab disaster that wasn't even her fault. That's all thanks to Will Hawthorne, his friends (one of whom she unfortunately used to date and now torments her whenever he gets the chance), as well as a coincidental meeting with a kindhearted woman who Violet discovers to be Will's mother. Violet's goal remains unwavering - keep her head down at school and win the upcoming battle of the bands contest that would enable her to pursue her music career - but with Will now intrigued by her inexplicably taking the fall for him, that goal is easier said than done. Still, Will begins to prove himself as more than just a temporary derailing of all her best-laid plans, and Violet starts to see a side of him she's never paid attention to before - his optimism, contagious enthusiasm, and nerdy, unabashed love for anything to do with outer space. But as the end of senior year and the deadline for the contest approaches, Violet's hope of staying in the shadows starts to crumble and cause turmoil for her and her dreams in more ways than one. A story about love, loss, family, friends, dreams, music, and letting your true self shine through.
