Diego rarely saw his father growing up and depended on his mother to fill that void. As he grew older, he found his own footing by learning from friends and not relying on his family. When he turned eighteen, he suddenly found that his father had turned up at his house with a letter for him. But, this was never what he wished for, and he ran away. A few weeks later, Diego's mother ended her life, sparking the beginning of this story.
