I was gasping for breathe. Pulling in air as hard as I could but I still couldn't get enough air. I had run this course before though and I knew that I only had 400 meter left. I felt weird, different. I wasn't used to feeling this high intensity of pain.
Oh god. I squeeze my eyes shut for a moment and then open them again. I can't risk tripping. I promised I would give this race my all. This is everything. Maybe this will stop my...Shut. Up.
I push myself even more and a wave of pain shoots through my entire body. I let out a little shout. I could see the finish line. I can get there. I can make it.
Something was dripping down from my nose. My nose was runny, weird. I was only probably 100 meters away from the finish when an overwhelming amount of exhaustion slapped me in the face. I stumbled, slumping downward for a moment.
NO! I could do this. I was so close. Black spots started to dot my vision and my head pounded, and within my next few steps. Nothing. Blackness.
I didn't even know if I had made it.

My dream continued the one I'd been having for the past couple of nights. I ran, gasping for breath, through the familiar woods from a dark figure behind me. The faster I tried to run, the slower I seemed to go, until it was like I was running in place. I knew I needed to run. I was terrified of what the figure would do when he caught me. "Mara Leigh," a deep, smooth voice called. It was almost hypnotic. That was new. The figure had never spoke before now. The forest slowly started to fade and I started to awake to someone shaking my shoulders. "Beau?" I mumbled, turning my head to the side. What's Beau doing in my room this time of night? Why is he shaking me? "Do not call me that name." My eyes flew open as I jumped at the voice from my dream. A face was right in front of mine, and just like the voice, it wasn't Beau. Before I could form a scream, a hand covered my mouth. I tried to bite it but I couldn't get my mouth to open. He's too strong. I started to use my whole body to try to get away, but he crawled on top of me, holding me down. I pulled the hidden knife out from under my pillow and slashed as hard as I could at him, but he just grabbed my wrist and squeezed it until the pain made me drop the knife. Then he grabbed both my hands in one of his and held them over my head. He held me down while I struggled. I grunted and moved and tried to kick and scream, but I only wore myself out. Shit. I hopped on my bike and I started it and I drove off. As I was zooming down the street I saw a wolf in the middle of the road I was going to fast I pressed on my breaks but I wasn't going to stop in time so I swerved off the road. I moved the bike off of me, the wolf slowly came up to me. I thought I was going to die, but I didn't instead it bit my side I screams once it's teeth synced through my skin. What was worse then it stopped I felt his teeth slowly pull out he then ran off I cried in pain I heard my phone go off but I couldn't move nor answer everything was blurred I saw figures through my helmet.
