I brush my hair away from my sweaty and tear stained face as I twist my face to look around us. "We have to keep looking. He has to be somewhere." Emery silently pulls me in and holds me to him. I felt any of what I had left blocking my emotions out break as I let out a sob and more followed as I balled up my brothers jacket in my hands. How could I let this happen, why'd I agree to invite that sick man to my sons birthday. God why. "Emery we-we have to keep going." I pull away and drag him with me as I focus on the task at hand, a freezing hand coming up from my side as I wipe my tears with my hand roughly.
