In Zorick, the land of the junimos, the young Termo feels different from his kind. Not only because of his skin, which has two colors unlike all the other junimos, but also because of his personality and his gift to create junimos from his own body. One day while wandering through the forests of Zorick, he discovers a portal that connects his world to Pelican Town, a small town inhabited by humans and other new and strange creatures personally unknown to him. The young junimo decides to cross the portal just at the moment when a new resident arrives in town.
