More about the lives they lead without the masks. But just keep in mind, people who live in the world have all different skin colours. Do not assume my characters are of one unless I state them explicitly. and diversity is welcome here in my novel! Anyhow, back to the story. Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride. Emerson Rogers liked to think of himself as an ordinary teenager. After all, he had no reason to believe otherwise. He went to an upstanding private school with the rest of his friends, was a straight-A student, had no disciplinary issues, and was well-liked according to his classmates and teachers. If anyone were to take a glance at him, they would assume that he was just another carefree rich kid with no problems in his life to worry about. Unless you consider the fact that his evening plans included putting on a blue super suit and speeding through the streets as a crime-fighting superhero. Okay, so maybe his life wasn't as ordinary and carefree as he liked to portray it. With Emerson starting his senior year of high school, things have started to become a bit more tricky than he would've preferred. Defending Jefferson City and maintaining a normal school life as a cover can be hard, but throw in his best friend getting closer to the truth about his alter-ego's identity and a mysterious villain working from the shadows who always seems to be two steps ahead, living a double life is going to be his biggest challenge yet. Especially when new villains start crawling out of the woodwork, thirsty for a fight, and his old villains return stronger, angrier, and looking to settle a score. As Emerson starts to uncover the truth behind where all these villains are coming from, he finds that not everything is what it seems on the surface. And that he and this mysterious villain have a stronger connection than he originally thought.

When it ends with their leader getting fatally injured, they must protect him from his father while also doing all his tasks. On top of that, mobs of people are surrounding him, now that they know he's a hero. Between angry parents, crazy teachers, evil siblings, reporting mobs and endless school work, these heroes are at their breaking point. Will the leader have to take control again, or can the heroes handle the job? In a world of masks and capes, who can you trust? Who's really the hero?
