Prism: The Glass Worldwide Kingdom

In a world governed by the totalitarian Glass Worldwide Kingdom, the King's oppressive rule has left citizens burdened by relentless taxation and a micro-managed existence. Under the guise of unity, the regime enforces Prism Theology, extinguishing individuality and personal faith.

"You should have nothing and be happy," the King's decree echoes, justifying the extreme measures to maintain control. Citizens are watched, monitored, and forced to rent their own homes on government-owned land. Inheritances vanish, swallowed by the state, and resistance is crushed.

Amidst this bleak landscape, the resistors emerge. United by their faith and the rejection of Prism Theology, they gather in secret tunnels beneath the city, hacking the oppressive laws and building an alliance of unlikely allies. As tension escalates between the King's enforcers and the resistors, a spark of rebellion ignites, culminating in a battle for the soul of the kingdom.

The resistors' journey is one of discovery, defiance, and sacrifice. With each chapter, their fight against the King's tyranny unveils a deeper layer of oppression and a yearning for true freedom. As the struggle reaches its peak, the Glass Worldwide Kingdom stands on the precipice of change, and the resistors must decide whether they will be the architects of a new era or succumb to the shadows of the past.

The Revelation by dstry0515

In the beginning, there was death. The darkness flows from hues of purple and orange, the moon rising to kiss the sun's rays one last time as the darkest cloud of night I've ever seen falls over our tiny haven. I catch Will's face from the side of my vision and my heart tightens slightly. The tick of his jaw wouldn't be noticeable for anyone but me. His best friend, his lifeline. A solemn tear forms in my eye as he wipes his face, another tear falling for the family he lost. I love him. Utterly and desperately so, but, there's nothing I can do about that. The ultimate forbidden fruit, if you will. I reach to comfort him and he doesn't respond. I open my mouth to speak and he looks my way, but the gleam in his dark brown eyes hits the moonlight just right and I fall. My voice escapes my throat and I can't do it. I've tried for years to tell him. 10 years, actually. All this time, I hopelessly remained devoted to a ghost who had given the best of himself to a fiery red-head with a sassy personality and the body of a supermodel. For 10 years, I held to the desperate thought that maybe, just maybe, he'd be someone I could count on. Instead, I watched him marry my best friend, smiled as they welcomed their son. Stood, holding that beautiful boy as his mother was in the first round of executions after the beginning of the Revelation. Helped heal Will's wounds in the aftermath. Cried, clutching the tear-stained shirt of my best friend as his son took his last staggering breath in that first harsh winter. The guilt of my emotions crawl through me. My heart twisting in regret, guilt, desperation, and grief. I loved my best friend. She was so much more than that; she was my family. In this dystopian quick read, join a group of people desperate to recapture their freedom and end a tyrant's reign.

Book Two: They encourage, not the realists and the brave, but the gullible and the fragile, those too weak to fight back. They massacre lower and middle-class citizens once every month to control the growing population through a method called Cleansing. They rid of all music except modern pop to eliminate diversity, keeping only one artist from each state in the music industry. They stop anyone from going in or out of the country and kick out all those not born within the now-armed borders. And that's just the beginning of what they call "The Great Reformation," the grand change of the United States government and all of its operations. All because the United Kingdom has turned against the nation and declared war, or so President Nathaniel Carter says. Carter, as the dictator, begins to tell citizens certain things, things that Ryan Tedder and his bandmates, Zach, Eddie, Brent, and Drew, don't actually buy. After all, physicist Niels Bohr once said, "The best weapon of a dictatorship is secrecy." Along with this chaos, Ryan is trying to deal with the stress of Ramona becoming distant due to her past reappearing, and the new rules and regulations making his career walk on a tightrope. The national anthem may say otherwise, but the United States is no longer the land of the free and the home of the brave. Not with the new government. Ryan and the other guys are determined to dig through the lies and find the real reason why. © 2016 by Verona Rohellec. Second installment of the Blooming Passion trilogy. Complete. Mature language. Extreme violence. Sensitive topics. Highest Rank(s) - #1 in Totalitarianism (tag) (nice!), #1 in Ryan Tedder (tag) (yay!), #3 in OneRepublic (tag). Thanks to libellule_ for the AMAZING cover! "Any thought you ever had; memories, desires, your fears and your dreams, are all recorded and stored safely in the Quantum Cloud for your eventual revival. Death is now merely a transitional period to the next stage of your existence. As a QUBIT (quantum processing biosynthetic), you will experience a life free of disease and suffering. Time is no longer your enemy. Regret is a thing of the past. Each new day brings the promise of endless possibilities, spent in the pursuit of your own happiness, guiltless with the knowledge that there are no longer earthly constraints to inhibit you. This is the life you have always wanted. Welcome to your new beginning..." Akropolis is a city at the end of times, a sanctuary where the brightest and best have been housed since the last Great War. A genome defect has afflicted the majority of the population and scientists are desperate to find a cure. In the meantime, man has found his own salvation in the form of the QUBIT (quantum processing bio-synthetic), an android that is capable of prolonging life almost indefinitely, and yet what makes them human in the first place has been lost in the transition. The ruling council believes that salvation is nigh, but whether that hope arrives in time is questionable. The city's future depends upon the actions of a few individuals, all of whom are struggling with their own mortality. Quentin is the boy who dreams of death. Mia is the tortured soul. Trey is the soldier that defines duty. Misao is the future of the ruling council. Claire is the girl with a secret that will rock the foundations of their entire civilization. Unbeknownst to them, the entire fate of Akropolis lies in their hands. Either humanity will find a way to survive or it will sink slowly into the sea of extinction.

7 Individuals 7 Tales 7 Purpose, Bound by fate yet scattered across time, seven warriors from different worlds unite against an impossible foe beyond mortality, beyond reason. Each carries their own past, their own burdens, their own purpose. From the wandering soul wrapped in a living cloak to the gorilla king of a utopian civilization, from the radiant mage to the shadow-born hunter seeking redemption, from a man who was lost in a new world to the embodiment of light it self-these are not just warriors. They are echoes of forgotten battles, remnants of broken destinies. But in the end... will they be remembered? Or will they become nothing more than a Pantheon of ghosts? (IMPORTANT) Each volume tells its own distinct story. At first, the chapters seem completely independent, but over time, hidden connections begin to emerge. However, the structure allows for complete freedom, reading volume 1(Nameless) first or 3(Spaniard) first won't spoil anything, because Chapters 1-60 aren't directly connected in a linear way. Instead, they form a larger web of stories that only reveal their full meaning when viewed as a whole.
