Hailey Anderson is a new student at Northern Lights for The Above, moving straight from Florida to California! She imagines her new life at school will be just like her last school, but she's wrong. Hailey witnesses a girl jump from the school's rooftop. Out of panic, she faints. When she wakes up and asks about the girl, she is shocked to discover there was no girl who jumped from the rooftop. The next days comes, Hailey notices some paranormal things starting to happen. Writings on bathroom doors, floating objects, loud slams of doors, and voices of a little girl echoing through the halls. When Hailey looks back out at the rooftop, she sees the same girl jump from there and land right back in the school's courtyard. This convinces Hailey that the school was haunted, and she wanted to know who exactly was haunting it. She tells Natalie, her best friend, and they work together to solve this case! On the way to uncover who the spirit haunting the school is, drama, heartbreak, and hardships fall on Hailey, but will it get in her way?

As if knowing everyone's darkest thoughts isn't bad enough, things get worse when Jay finds a group of cloaked figures-seemingly brainwashed-taking part in a strange ritual within an abandoned factory at the edge of town. Along with Carter, his only friend, and Lola, the mysterious girl he can't help but be drawn to, Jay investigates. As the group unravels the secrets of the factory and their town, they find themselves in danger from the sinister supernatural forces that might have been best left undisturbed forever.
