However, they're not the greatest mercenaries or the top hundred. But despite all that, they're now tasked with defending the realm. Along with them, is an armored warrior from a distant land home to other warriors who were trained from birth, who hunt monsters in their culture, worship winged-reptilian monsters known as Wyverns, and that they never show their faces, but their home was destroyed by a force that not even they could face. When her friends get themselves kicked out of the last tavern in Tal'Dorei, Zia thinks that's it, the group would finally split and she would be alone, but when Scanlan finds an ad on a board they decide to give their partnership one last go.
