Nico Fawkes, an outcast whos only friends were poems and books.
When one of his poems ends up the focus at his school it also becomes the focal point of the mystery to be solved by Kit Rosen and his younger sister, Clare.
But the mystery of the poem turns into the mystery of love between two heartbroken boys.
"I love you, I know I shouldn't," Kit said shaking.
"Why shouldn't you love me?" Nico said, tears threatening to break free from their cage.
"Because you're too good an artist to have a lousy muse."

Nia Evans feels as though her kidney disease is ruining every aspect of her life. In particular, her last year of school. Where, she hopes, her disease won't consume her so she can pretend to be just like everyone else and get past the resentment she hides from her dad. But on her first day, her photo is taken by the one boy who will ruin her chances to blend in. All Milo Thompson has ever wanted to do is swim. As a child, the Olympics was his dream. But now, he understands his dreams were unrealistic. Caught between his parents' abusive relationship, he's left to look after his eight-year-old sister. Afraid of exposing weakness, he hides behind a reputation that no longer belongs to him. All at the expense of the future he still dreams of. When they meet and find art as a common ground, they open up to each other more than they ever intended through their work. Milo learns to express his true emotions in more than just his drawings. And Nia discovers that perhaps there is more to life than her disease. Alex has been looking for a sign from the universe. A sign to tell him that he needs to keep fighting. To live on for his brother who died in a tragic car accident. When Alex stumbles across a man in town wearing a blindfold, holding a sign that says, 'You are not alone. If you need a talk or a hug. I am here.' He takes it upon himself to approach the stranger. Was this the sign he has been looking for? - River has been a mental health advocate for three years. With his own demons battled, he takes it upon himself to support others. More specifically strangers. He has always found peace in helping those who suffer in silence. When River is approached by a man who expresses his depressive tendencies, he decides to take the broken stranger for coffee, out of fear of what might happen if he lets him go. River tells him to offload, release all the sadness and frustration he has into someone who knows nothing about him. But when he leaves, River can't stop thinking about him. It's not until Alex comes back a few months later to thank him for listening when he needed help the most. Alex has a lot to thank for his signs from the universe.Complete

For the booksmart yet naïve 16-year-old Nicky, high school in her quaint little hometown island in the Philippines had always been predictable. Until that senior year. Nicky thought she got things all figured out. She'd be very good at school and be the valedictorian of the single-section class of 2010 of the highly looked-up science high school in their island. And then, she'd get a full scholarship to her dream university. All was fairly well except for a few things like grappling her feelings towards a long-time crush. Just when Nicky thought she could get through high school without too much boy-drama, a somewhat seemingly love life with a boy or two and suddenly, maybe even three was finally catching up with her during the last few months before high school graduation. She had never thought she could be wrong about a person. And that she could always be wrong about boys... ✨✨✨ Sidenote: I wrote this from November 2010 to April 2011, only a year ahead from the time set in the novel. Jonathan Casey aka complete and total book worm despises leo and the rest of his bad boy wanna be group of friends who seem to have some sort of a hold on this fresh hell of a high school. Unfortunately leos best friend is jonathans older brother therefore they are bound to cross paths. Does the constant presence and heat radiating between the two finally show that there might be something more than just hate they share?
