Fifteen year old Alexis Reynold has always wanted a horse of her own. Fortunately, her granddad has a riding stables just down the road where she lives, so she gets to hang out around the horses, but her number one dream has always been to have her own horse. When she is cycling to her granddad's stables one morning, she finds a gateway which was covered by bush. Eventually battling through it, she finds a field brimming with ragwort, and a malnourished Arabian mare with an elegant, dished nose. She rescues her and she becomes her horse. But when spotted at a large event, the original owners of the horse tells Alexis about how she'd been stolen one night, and how she has prized bloodlines and is worth tens of thousands of dollars.
