For many in the multiverse, even hearing about The King of Negativity leaves them in cold sweat, what happens to any other AU in his path clear in anyone's mind.
They all pray for the day when his opposite, The Guardian of Positivity, his brother, would take him down so they could bask in tranquility and peace.
Nightmare was always stronger than Dream, simply due to the fact that most AUs were full of Negativity already, only boosting him as he terrorized it.
But, that was slowly starting to change, a plan was formed by Dream's council, hoping to trap and control him, as a Positve and Negative balance was needed in the Multiverse.
Nowhere was safe, besides the place he called home, a place blocked off by Dream's senses, and would be foolish to enter, if he even could. Even that wouldn't last, if Dream got strong enough to ignore its effects and come for him at his weakest.
He needed power, as he lost more and more battles, the Multiverse fearful of him less and less.
He needed beings to do the fighting for him, he needed SOULs that had nowhere else to go, too fucked up to be accepted anywhere else besides in Nightmare's grasp.
It wasn't going to end like Cross, that filthy traitor.
He was going to do everything in his power to keep his faithful, faithful.

In this multiverse, the world is based on two powerful things. Some may say Hope, others may say Love, some people even might say that nothing does, and it's our actions that control the world. And, while they aren't wrong, there are two beings that control this certain multiverse, whether they like it or not. They are Fate, and Destiny. These are things that no one can control, That also Includes our wonderful Creator. Ink is someone that many people look up to. Those people may be his friends, for his courage and kindness, the council, for his commanding aura and power, and even the bad sans, even if it's merely because of his ability to beat them every time. No matter who you are, it's one thing they can all agree on; that Ink is powerful, that he is strongest being in the multiverse, and even with all of this power, He is a kind, and hopeful SOUL. But they are wrong. Ink certainly isn't the most powerful, not compared to his mother and her allies, and he certainly isn't hopeful- or Kind. Because Ink doesn't have a SOUL, so there is no place for him to feel Hope or Kindness. Of course, he used to have a SOUL, but that is merely a distant memory in his short life of fourteen years. Of course, he can act kind, he can pretend to have Hope, but in all honesty, he wouldn't care if the multiverse burned to ash, he'd enjoy it even, just for the pain and anger it'd cause his Lovely mother to feel. Dream always felt the weight of expectations on his shoulders and they've only grown worse now that he's a Star Sans. Save this AU, rescue that person, stop Nightmare over there, and make X person smile! He's as bad an omen as a black cat crossing your path. Others assume he is bad because of his "freakish" or glitching appearance. He has accepted these but it gets tiring when he already has the voices bossing him around or Fate reminding him that he should do more destruction. But he doesn't limit himself to destruction. He watches UnderNovela, admires the stars, and appreciates what he can. He pushes the limits of what is expected of him or disregards them completely. A trait that Dream eventually finds himself admiring in him, the known enemy of his friend. He knows that Error's feelings are genuine since he doesn't change in his presence(still an angry manchild). So when Dream gets wounded and stuck with Error on a whim, where will it take them? Will it be a mistake remaining in a hatred of enemies or will it change them both for the better? [NSFW] In this world, we live in a world where everyone's AU has died out, only find out there was a heaven and hell. One per AU. Of course, the 'awares' had this place they could always go to to talk and was considered as the middle. The center, the heart. As well as hang outs, like a place for the Bad Time Trio, etc. Now, they have angels, demons, and the fallen. Fallens are angels who have committed a sin, but not evil enough to become a demon. They are frowned upon. Not considered the same. Sadly, most of them consist of young children. The angels and demons of course would fight. And at the heart of angel society, was Ink. He was the most cutest, pure, and innocent bean you could ever find. Then there was Nightmare. Being able to have him right around his fingers. Every year, if either on the Angel or Devil side, if there isn't another ruler to rule alongside the main one, or 'protector', then there is a specific time you have to find someone. Otherwise, you get kicked off as it is unfair to rule alone. The only reason Ink isn't kicked off is because he has someone ruling with him. Dream & Blue. Of course, Nightmare has only been able to stall by trying to find one, seeing them as not the one, and the counter gets reset. You can't do it forever though. Now, Ink terribly naive for a protector. Of course, he was the heart. He had a place in everyone's heart- With Dream & Blue being the next. Blue being a guard, and Dream being his 'right-hand man.' Most of the time being the one helping and guiding Ink. They soon find him to be missing, captured by the demons. Panic would be spread all over the place if they were to find out Ink was missing. With this, and a limited time to work with, considering if you were to officially become a ruler of somewhere, your heart has to actually want to leave if you were to leave. Honestly, no one really liked the idea, especially the Bad Sanses, including Ink's enemy, Error. Prince Nightmare is one of the AUs that must repeat these years of treachery. He basically only finished his actual highschool, and is NOT looking forward to having to do it again. Luckily his brother, Prince Dream, will be coming along the journey beside him. But Nightmare and Dream Are polar opposites, so Nightmare can't really get along with his brother's friends, nor Dream get along with Nightmare's, if he had any. With rules to follow and secrets to keep, Nightmare must go through highschool and not let slip the terrible things that happen at home. But then suddenly the two princes disappear. There's no trace as to who might've taken them, either. The only one that doesn't seem concerned is their own father, the king. King Sun-Beam.
