"You really think you can beat me at my own game?"

The girl went against her better nature and nodded defiantly in response. The air was thick with unspoken tension and electricity, and no other words were spoken for a good few seconds. Until, finally, the other girl cocked an eyebrow and snickered.

"Alright, I guess we'll see then who comes out on top -"

A claw was jabbed lightly in the girl's direction before she finally spoke her name.

"Undyne~"

Undyne Maris was by no means a fighter. She was timid and soft-spoken, always playing by the rules that were handed out to her. The only solace she had was from playing sports, and even then, she was too shy to join an actual team.

Her life was stuck in a neverending cycle of anxiety and monotony.

Until one day, an honor's student by the name of Alphys Varanidae challenges her to a competition that no one had dared to enter against her in years. It was a losing battle, and Alphys always got her prize.

The conditions were simple overall, and whoever won was bound to get something out of the deal.

But how far is Undyne willing to go to capture her prize? And will it change her will for the better? Or for the worse?
