Linn, a seer who frightens Uhtred and his men, but nevertheless enchants one of them with her beauty: Sihtric Kjartansson!

After Uhtred and his men had successfully survived the seer Skade, they thought they would never again cross the path of such a creature!

But that quickly changed when they were stopped by a woman on their way to Winchester! Uhtred knew immediately what she wanted and what kind of creature she was!

So he ordered his men to ride on, which all but Sihtric did...Uhtred looked at him and saw him literally staring at the woman standing in front of his horse!

A loud whistle snapped Sihtric out of his thoughts and he followed Uhtred and the others to Winchester! But a few days later, the woman came to Coccham and looked around for Uhtred and his men!

She found the men in the great hall and joined them! Uhtred, Finan and Osferth were anything but enthusiastic about her visit, but Sihtric did not seem to mind the visit of the mysterious woman who looked so magical to him!

A few hours passed before Uhtred dared to approach her and ask her what she wanted from him and his men...

Will the mysterious stranger answer Uhtred's questions?

Or will she continue to stare at Sihtric and hope that Uhtred would soon tire of talking to her?

And will she one day be accepted by Uhtred, Finan and Osferth?
