"His breath escaped from him lips, making a cloud form on each whisper. "Please, Don't ever get your hopes up about all this ending." He looks sincere. I stare to my shoes which were at one point white. From everything I've trudged through I'm surprised they even are still together.
"I won't." I promise him.
This post apocalyptic world will most likely never get better. His kind and mine will continue to fight, and he and I will always be in the middle of it until the grey clouds float away and a dark paradise appears."
