Jungkook exhaled sharply. "I spent years convincing myself I didn't care. But do you know what it did to me? Watching you walk through my house like you were something fragile-something I could break just by looking too long?" His voice trembled. "And then I did."

Jimin's fingers twitched in the blankets, but he didn't turn.

Jungkook swallowed, forcing himself to go on. "I was meant to protect you. Even if you never knew it. Even if I never said it aloud. And instead, I became the thing you needed protection from." His hands curled into fists. "I have never regretted anything the way I regret that night."

Jungkook closed his eyes for a moment, then opened them, staring at the small, unmoving form before him. "If I could tear out my own heart and hand it to you, I would. If I could carve my sins from my bones, if I could bleed out the part of me that hurt you, I would." His breath shuddered. "But I can't. I can only sit here, at your feet, and tell you that the only thing I ever wanted was you."

A pause. Then, quieter-

"And the only thing I deserve is to never have you again."
