The Lover and The Fool

Emily Thompson just wants to finish the year with a high enough grade so she can get a scholarship.

Jack Mason couldn't care less about school, and is trying to distract himself until the year ends and he can move out.

The universe has other plans, and they're paired up in English to do a project. At first Emily can't understand why Jack won't try harder, and Jack finds Emily's overachieving personality annoying.

It doesn't take long, though, for them to both realise that they may have judged each other too harshly, and maybe people aren't as easy to read or to understand.
