In the small village of Cosay, twenty-two year old Yindi Tabaaha is a social pariah as she is magicless in a world where magic is power. Until a Crone from Cor le Ven, the famed magical institute, reveals Yindi does have magic and offers a rare invitation for Yindi to study there. On arrival, the Seers welcome Yindi with a prophecy - a war is coming that will decimate their dying world. And before they will train Yindi, they offer her a test. Yindi must uncover who is behind an assassination plot against the Crown Prince of New Vialle and keep the Prince alive. If not, it will be the first strike and trigger the war. This needed to stop. She couldn't bear to see her mother's tortured body again, she saw it too often in her daily nightmares. Trigger warnings: No suicide, sexual assault scenes or self-harm. There will be sexual assault alluded to as backstory connected to two characters. There will be some eating disorders, binge / overeating, alluded to connected to a character.
