It's spring break for California's Baltalm High School, for the gifted and talented. Vivienne Bartlette is one of Baltalms most talented students. However, being so focused on her future and education, Vivienne has not had a real taste of the world outside her focused academics. On the other hand, this all changes when a well known town rebel uses her practice studio as a hide out from the police. While both hiding in the dark room, the boy informs Vivienne that she basically lives tucked away in a fake reality, and she needs to learn what living actually is. Vivienne, who is soon caught up in the rebellious boys habits, finds herself at parties, bonfires, clubs, beach houses, and even the local police station. She knows when spring break is over everything will go back to the way it was. Right?

Complete! "You know I really like you, right?" He was definitely drunk. "You do?" I asked. My voice was supposed to be teasing, but I think it came off as a bit startled. He laughed, "Yeah, why else would I trust you with all my secrets?" -- Betty was many things; a romantic, a fashion designer, a bit more jealous than the average girl, great with a camera, a helpful daughter and a good friend. But she was best known for being nice. And usually, the boy did not want the 'nice' girl. But this summer she was going to prove to Mike, her crush since FOREVER, that nice was enough. She was going to have an amazing summer, a perfect Junior year, and finally have her first kiss. It was a foolproof plan. Moving from her childhood home in Arizona to New Mexico at the start of Junior year was never a part of Betty's plan. But sometimes when parents are involved, plans change. So now the nice girl had to start over at a new school in a new State. And when the (maybe not so bad) bad boy, Eli, gets involved, it might be hard to be known as 'the nice girl'.
