Unwavering love
This story is about a naive Indian girl who falls in love with a mafia king. His entire personality screams red flags, but strangely, when it comes to her, he becomes a green flag. Due to unexpected circumstances, their lives become entangled through marriage, and since then, her life has been turned upside down. He makes her feel loved and protected. She changes him into a rational person. She is too good for him, yet he cannot let her go despite knowing the cruel reality of his world. I told myself I couldn't falter now. But it was so difficult to meet his gaze unaffected, let alone manage my expressions and behavior around him. "So you're telling me there's nothing going on between us?" he questioned, stepping toward me. I stood rooted in place, my mind blank. When I didn't answer, he closed the gap, stopping just inches away. I could already smell his cologne and shaving cream. Suddenly, I felt hot and acutely aware of him. My thoughts were consumed by the distance between us rather than his question. Then I heard his deep, almost seductive voice near my ear. "Do you like this, babe?" he whispered, his warm breath fanning my ear, sending a tingling sensation through me. Heat rose to my cheeks, and beads of sweat formed across my forehead. Now she will have to live with the debt of temptation - When Poppy witnesses a robbery gone wrong and gives evidence to the police to catch the perpetrators, she finds herself in witness protection after discovering the criminals are part of a dangerous gang. But when her witness protection comes to an end, she is soon captured by the gang leader and told she'll give eight years of her life for the man who was sentenced to prison for the same amount of time. Poppy is forced to work for the spiteful leader, Rexx, who uses her natural beauty to swindle valuable information from wealthy men for his own benefit. She's been counting down the seconds until her freedom. When she stumbles across Gabriel Dalton, the underboss to the mafia, he's charming, attractive and tempting. Poppy expects him to be like the rest, only ever after one thing. But that's when Gabriel proves her wrong. After Rexx discovers her acquaintance with Gabriel, he demands that she spies on him to get information about his family and business. Reluctantly she wants to say no, but she has no choice. If she fights it, she'll get hurt-or worse. As Poppy becomes closer to Gabriel, she doesn't expect to fall for him. And little does he know, she's been lying to him this whole time. There is only one thing Gabriel absolutely despises and that is heartless backstabbers. an almost decade old story. * "one tragedy changed their lives." a story with dialogues and minimal description, in which a boy ends up in the hospital after a car accident and his friend slowly collapsing under the weight of his tortured mind. but what actually happened that one fateful night and what other secrets will be unraveled? * two main male pov's, recognizable through italics and normal text. a story written unlike any other. i hope you'll find comfort in it just as much as i have. be aware that this is a realistic story. * slow-burn start, but it picks up. don't let the number of chapters fool you; the average reading time for each is less than a minute . i came up with the story of the two friends when i was still quite young and i'm by no means a writer, so it deeply apologize if it sucks ass. feel free to vote and comment or point out any spelling mistakes or confusing paragraphs. it needs some editing and possibly some small changes or added chapters for clarity and better character development, but as for now, this first completed story will do. original story: around 2014. first upload: 2020. re-upload: 2023.Complete
