After the fall Cas is human and living with Sam and Dean in the bunker. A lot has changed but the way he feels about Dean hasn't. His want to protect Dean hasn't, even if it's only nightmares he can fight for him now.
so this was inspired by a tweet from. @/fallenatic841. they had a really interesting idea and this started forming in my head. thank you for catching my imagination

"have you tried turning it off and on again?" Cas and Dean. Dean and Cas. You would never see one without the other. The Winchester boys had lived next door to Novaks for as long as anyone in the sleepy little town could remember. Cas and Dean were always best friends, joined at the hip was an understatement. It wasn't until they got into high school, they finally acted upon their feelings of intense love for each other. Inseparable, utterly, stupidly and madly in love. They were both shattered, but their broken edges fit together perfectly. Both suffering from abusive households, both with a brother that they'd die for. Meant for each other. Until that fateful day, when Cas woke up on their 2 and 1/2 year anniversary, after the best night of his life, and found Dean gone, no note, and his place on the bed cold. Our story takes place 6 years later, when the Winchesters are back in town for college, and the Novaks never left. It's time for this sleepy town to be reawakened. Cas is human and lives in the Bunker with Sam, Dean and Kevin. Sometimes they go hunting but it's mostly quiet in the supernatural world. After one particular hunt it gets hard for Dean to keep his feelings towards Castiel a secret any longer. But what will happen if Cas finds out what Dean really feels about him?
