He sat next to him, looked him in his eyes. «Eiji» called him, «We have the mistaken belief that we have to face everything, everything together.» Eiji started to cry. His hands were shaking, his throat started to burn. «I can't, I can't do it, okay? I can't be happy, I will never be fully happy now, I'm so sorry I'm disappointing everyone! I'm sorry I am such a burden!» he shouted out.
Waking up in the morning, staring at the sun and wondering for what or for who he was living for; it had become routine since years now. Would he ever really be fully happy? Would he ever be able to live his life fully by letting go of what was holding him back?

The symptoms of the disease are summarized to strong pain, having flowers blooming in the heart and lungs, and then throwing them up. The disease begins with coughing up a few petals and growing in intensity (and pain) until the victim is vomiting entire flowers, by which point the disease has entered its final stages... Eiji is torn apart by the news of Ash's death. He locks himself away and begins to slowly fade away. When he finds out Ash is still alive he couldn't be happier. But now, after so long, after almost letting it all go every morning and night, how was he supposed to pick himself back up and just forget? He's been just as gone as Ash was.
