When Flynn receives a quickly written letter from his long-lost friend, he realizes it is a call for help and sets out to find him. After leaving town, he notices that the populations of monsters has grown exponentially. Will he manage to find his friend in this tale of travels and hardships, or will he be slain before he can reach him? Read on to find out!

Genophobia can be read without it, but a lot of inside jokes, characters and events might be confusing. ~~~ Dante meets Flynn on one of the worst nights of his life, and he wants to forget about it altogether. But he can't shake the guilt, and wants to apologize to Flynn-mistake one, because what he didn't remember about that night was that Flynn is unbelievably charming. Stranded on an uncharted island during an expedition gone wrong, Lyra must find a way to not only escape the strange island but survive its brutal environment and the creatures that lurk there. The last thing Lyra expected on this expedition is to end up stumbling into the territory of a highly aggressive and highly territorial beast that sees her as its next meal...or so she thinks. ----- Lyra has always suffered from a fear of snakes, ever since she was a young girl. She has done well to avoid the scaly creatures and keep her distance from them even while working as a toxicologist who researches and makes lifesaving cures for snake bite victims. However, working in such a field doesn't completely keep her from interacting or coming close to the animals she fears so much, especially when she's sent on an expedition along with some explorers to an uninhabited island to research and discover new species of plants and animals as well as search for an elusive and highly venomous serpent that is said to inhabit the strange isle. It also doesn't help when their helicopter suddenly malfunctions and the group ends up crash-landing in the middle of a dense jungle with no way of contacting the outside world for help. and to make things worse for poor Lyra, something seems to be stalking her in this new and unfamiliar environment. It's bad enough she's trapped with no way home in such a dangerous place, but when she comes across signs of a monster lurking somewhere on this uncharted isle, she comes to find that the worst of her nightmares have only just begun. because the thing that's been stalking her from the shadows as fangs and scales just like the creatures she fears the most, with intentions of keeping her trapped with it on the isle.

"Silly boy - you dare ask me that question?" I frown at him instantly - taken aback when he gripped my chin. Yanking me close enough towards him, our lips almost touched. The look in his eyes was one I've seen in wild animals who can't control their animalistic behaviors. Except this one was different...it held desire - which I wasn't for at all. "I became Unhinged because of you." That's when I saw him begin to lean towards me, and wasn't having this any longer. I shove my hand onto his lips right when he was about to kiss me. My eyes glaring into his despite the risks of me doing so. "I refuse for my first kiss to be from someone like you." I growl at him, his eyes widening in shock. That's when I push him back and got off of the couch. I saw him watching me with feral eyes that told me I probably angered him even more. Possibly heightening the chances of my removal from this horrid competition. Except I'm not like the other contestants here. Having him isn't my dream, my dream is helping my family - and being here does that. I could care less if he becomes Unhinged.
