"Baby, look at me," he lifts my chin, making me look in his eyes.

His eyes search mine and he glances down at my lips. I lick my lips as they suddenly feel dry and his eyes darken as he looks down at them.

he leans in slightly and my eyes flutter shut. His breath mingles with mine and my pulse quickens. Our chests are pressed against each others as his lips brush mine. My breath hitches and his hands trace my hips.

Amina Malik Khan is a 17 year old 1st generation Kuwaiti-American. Growing up with a brown mom with insanely high expectations and spending senior year dealing with a toxic ex-boyfriend that just can't seem to catch a hint, is not exactly what she envisioned for her final year of high school. Her only motivation is her best friend Charlie.

Charlie Raul Perez is an immigrant from the Dominican Republic. Saying that moving to America at 8 years old was a big change, would be an understatement. Only thing that got him through it was Amina. Being the basketball team captain and the lead guitarist of a band with his best friends, Charlie doesn't really have time for (neither does he give a fuck about) school.

Charlie and Amina have always been close, not quite as close as he'd like though, but they both hope this'll be the year it all changes.
