When beloved King Sunas dies, the land of Arashon plunges into chaos. Unbeknownst to humanity, four mythical beasts vie for control: the Dragon of the East, the Tiger of the West, the Tortoise of the North, and the Phoenix of the South. In the previous war, with the support of the Phoenix, Sunas and his forces came out victorious. However, following the death of the king, each mythical beast will choose a new candidate to fight on its behalf, and war will once more invade the land of Arashon.
Four siblings are chosen to fight. One of them, the youngest male, fifteen-year-old Aden, has been arrested for the murder of the king and sentenced to die. On the day of his execution, however, he is saved by a girl who claims to belong to a mysterious order of power-wielding monks. After a narrow escape, he learns of his important role in the impending war and is entrusted with a feather of the Phoenix, an artifact which grants him powers beyond his wildest dreams.
Total war begins. Brother against brother, the candidates fight for power and control, as the war for divine right does not end until all enemies are destroyed and a new king can be crowned.
