She wakes up, cold, tired and terrified, chained to a wall in a stranger's basement. Unbeknownst to her, she's now in the hands of someone else so much worse. She finds herself determined to escape his grip in any way possible, even if it means doing what he wants and pretending to like it. And as more time goes on, Max seems to be further taken by her, doing everything to try and mend bridges to get her to stay. But, she can't become complacent; that's how people die. She's found herself deep into the underbelly of life others don't know, where laws are not the same, where people are not the same. Surrounded by a pack of gun runners, thieves and murderers, she starts to question if she could ever go back to her old life.
