When Scout, a seventeen year old troll, first gets her invitation to attend Aiimsbury Academy, a school where elves, trolls, vampires, werewolves and witches learn together, she is thrilled to go. 
At first everything seems fine, she meets Charly, a sixteen year old elve, and they immediately bond. 
However, there seems to be something going on, in Aiimsbury Academy - strange noises at night, destroyed objects in the morning. No one but Scout and Charly seem to recognize or care - no one but Maeve, a seventeen year old witch, that seems to hate Scout since the first time they meet. 
Can they work together to solve this mystery in time, before someone is seriously injured or the ever worsening events deepen old wounds and lead to war between the creatures?
