The Children of the Gems
Twelve children were gifted with gems of magic. Twelve children had magic that ran through their blood, and they didn't even know it until it was almost too late. Twelve children were born to twelve different Gods and Goddesses, each having a different power than the one before them. Twelve children were shunned from the world that they grew up in, forgotten except for one who walked amongst them from time to time. Twelve children grew up on their own, with one just turning of age. In the year 1970 an unknown chemical breached the Earth surface. For 17 days people all around the world reported strange illnesses followed by a slow agonizing death. Then as quick as it came it seemingly vanished without a trace. Fast forward to the early 20's individuals around the globe started to develop strange abilities. Some having strange animal or insect like features or mutations. Pretty soon the world fell into fear and panic thus nicknaming these gifted individuals Freaks. Not soon after an organization was formed with the soul purpose to keep the Freaks under control. Fast forward five years later we have a small ragtag group of freaks calling themselves the I'LL Born. The Tale of Hades & Persephone
This is a rewrite of my previous fan fiction "Tales of Hades and Persephone" as well as some inspiration from the original myth (and perhaps other retellings I enjoy). Hades has been alone for far too long. One day he pays a visit to Zeus and requests to marry Persephone. The King of the Gods agrees and even recommends Hades kidnap Persephone, since it's unlikely Demeter will agree to the marriage. Persephone is a young Goddess of Earth curious about the world of the mortals. She's always helping her mother Demeter, but one day while watching the mortals she wanders off only to fun into a handsome stranger. After a brief conversation, Persephone finds herself swept away to the Underworld. Will Hades manage to get Persephone to fall in love with him? What will Demeter do when she discovers her daughter is missing and it's all Zeus' fault? Will the mortals be able to survive the wrath of the Gods?Complete

"I've told you, Hades, I can not become your mistress." she sadly told him. She had always lived in her mother's shadow, and if she followed Hades, she would once again be living in another's shadow. Even though she loved him, she did not think she could stomach it. "I do not want you to be my mistress, Persephone, I want you to be my queen," he confessed to her. She snapped her head up to meet his eyes, searching for any sign he wanted to take his words back, but there was no remorse. And just like that, she fell ever so slightly more in love with him. "Your queen?" she asked, she had to be sure. Strangely the word had slid off her tongue gracefully as if it had belonged there. "Yes, become my queen," he told her once again, taking back the step she had taken. "Rule besides me as the goddess of spring and the Underworld."
