"Sampung taon Carlos, mahal kita. Sampung taon na kitang hinahabol. Sampung taong kalahati ng buhay ko. Walang isang araw sa sampung taon na iyon na hindi tayo nagkita o nagkausap." 

"Bakit mo sinasabi sa akin yan?" tanong niya. Isn't it obvious? I'm trying to say goodbye.

Kinuha ko ang wine glass at nilagyan ng wine ang baso naming dalawa. I held up my glass and asked for a toast. "Cheers to ten years of loving you, my Carlos." 

"Anong gusto mong sabihin?" ani Carlos. Napangiti ako dahil napukaw ko ang atensyon niya at sabay tumingin sa mata niya. Sampung taon na pala noong una kong natitigan ang mga mata niya. Walang pinagbago, mayroon pa ring sariling mundong nakatago doon. Gusto kong libutin kung ano man ang mayroon doon.
