The main character, Elinka, is thrown into a new world of magical powers, an oppressive empire, and makes a few self-discoveries along the way. Elinka is joined by her older cousin Simca and her mysterious best friend Kaida on her journey where she meets many extraordinary people including an elusive and alluring individual named Ryu.
