I back up until I hit the wall, and Xander places his hand beside my head. "And two, you know that since you moved next door, our moms have been wanting us to be together." Damn, he's right. Bianca has been more bothersome, now that we are seniors, I know she plans to make this school year a living hell. I look down at the floor, deep in thought. She didn't have a problem with that; she loves being alone, enjoying binge-ing TV shows, finishing an entire can of Ben&Jerry's by herself and, sometimes, calling her only best friend to chat. One day, a new boy transfers into her school. He's distant, cold and sometimes even funny. There's Max Bordel, reuniting with his long lost friend group, finding a job at a local diner and making harmless pranks. # Prologue **Two Years Ago** The music is too loud. I can't stop laughing. "Becky, slow down," Irin says. Someone stops me from reaching for another drink. Saint's twin. Freen.
