A girl named Timber lives in a world where everyone is part wolf, and they are ruled my a mysterious collection of people called the Countless. After Timber's best friend, Darky, fails all of her tests and is exiled, Timber goes with her. In the far reaches of the outer forest, they meet another group of wolves from a different tribe. And apparently they are trying to overthrow the Countless. After Timber learns the Countless want to use her to spy on her friends, she must decide who she is truly loyal to.
