Sometimes the second chance isn't enough and life tests you harder before finally awarding you the much awaited third chance when you have disastrously messed up the second chance. The process isn't easy. It wasn't for Anuj and Anupamaa. He suffered without her for 30 years and she did too just not with him just not to his knowledge. The story timeline is set towards the end of the 5 year leap, when Anu and Anuj return to India for Dimple's wedding. Taking off after Anuj calls Anu offering to help her de-stress in Ep 1322 - when Ishani was hospitalized after Hasmukh gave her the wrong medication. Thereafter it shift to an alternate reality but all the characters still exist in this universe acting pretty close to their show personalities.
