Every time the story is told, it ends the same way. The Minotaur is killed, Daedalus is imprisoned, Icarus dies. A warning-never fly too close to the sun. You will fall. But what if somebody fished Icarus out of the sea, and made him part of their crew? It's not as though it would be easy, not by any means, but his story doesn't have to end in tragedy every time. After all, stories can be re-written. But there are storms ahead, and it seems that, when your captain is friends with a sorceress, things are never going to work out quite the way you expect.

(COMPLETED SHORT STORY) They call me Captain Seraphine, and the Moonfang answers only to me. I don't sail for glory. I don't sail for gold. I sail to find what killed my father. He died chasing a treasure buried deep in the sea - a place the sane don't go. The Forbidden Abyss. I've never been accused of being sane. Gods, my mother is a witch and my father a pirate. Orric. My second-in-command. Loyal, lethal, and handsomely irritating. He watches me like he knows what I'm hiding. Follows me like he'd walk into hell at my side. I need his blade - not his smirk. And definitely not the way he says my name when no one else is listening. I can't afford distractions. Not when something in the Abyss is waiting for me. Calling me by name. And promising I won't leave the same woman I was when I entered.
