Every time the story is told, it ends the same way. The Minotaur is killed, Daedalus is imprisoned, Icarus dies. A warning-never fly too close to the sun. You will fall.

But what if somebody fished Icarus out of the sea, and made him part of their crew? It's not as though it would be easy, not by any means, but his story doesn't have to end in tragedy every time. After all, stories can be re-written.

But there are storms ahead, and it seems that, when your captain is friends with a sorceress, things are never going to work out quite the way you expect.

When Hyacinthus died, Apollo grieved the loss of the love of his life. He asked Hades to return his love to him but was denied. Less than a century after the disc struck, Hyacinthus of Sparta was reborn as Icarus of Crete. Once more, he loved and was loved by Apollo. Alas, the Fates love tragedy, wings that burn, and boys who fall. The third time it took more than three thousand long years for Apollo's love to be reborn. Once again doomed before drawing breath. Hyacinthus became Icarus and Icarus became Percy Jackson. Will Apollo keep his love this time? All credit goes to Dewy_Pink_Morning_Roses52. This is their original story on AO3.
